PCB Layout CAD : PCB Settings

NC Drill

The NC Drill section of the Settings dialog allows you to configure NC Drill file output settings.

For more details about opening the PCB Settings screen, refer to About PCB Settings.

If you want to specify a Tool No., this can be executed from the Drill Mark Setting of the NC Drill List.

NC Drill File

NC drill files are created for each combination of the start layer and end layer of drills. You can also generate separate NC drill files for plated and unplated holes.

File Name Examples)
　Sample_NCDrill　　　　　　: A NC drill file from a Top layer to a Bottom layer
　Sample_NCDrill(Top-2)　　 : A NC drill file from a Top layer to a second layer
　Sample_NCDrill(2-3)　　　 : A NC drill file from a second layer to a third layer
　Sample_NCDrill(3-Bottom) : A NC drill file from a third layer to a Bottom layer
　Sample_NCDrill-TH　　　　: A NC drill file for plated drills
　Sample_NCDrill-NTH　　　 : A NC drill file for unplated drills

NC Drill Setting Items

The file format for exporting NC Drill can be set.

Item	Content
Format	It is possible to select either "RS-274X" or "Excellon".
Unit	It is possible to select either "mm" or "inch".
Number of Integer Digits	The number of integer digits can be set.
Decimal Places	The decimal places can be set.
Zero Suppression	It is possible to select from "None", "Leading", or "Trailing". * With "Trailing", any zeros at the end are deleted to reduce the amount of data. * With "Leading", any zeros at the beginning are deleted to reduce the amount of data.
Offset X	The Offset Value for the X Coordinate can be set.
Offset Y	The Offset Value for the Y Coordinate can be set.
Mirror	Use this control to generate a NC drill file with the flipped coordinate information. Use the drop-down list to choose from the following: No Mirror　　　　: A NC drill file is output with the viewed-from-top coordinate information. Horizontal Mirror : A NC drill file is output with the horizontally flipped coordinate information. Vertical Mirror　 : A NC drill file is output with the vertically flipped coordinate information.
Prefix	The prefix at the beginning of the Export File Name can be set. The Board Name, date, etc., can be input.
Slot/Square Hole Output Type	Enable this option to select how you export slot/square holes into NC drill files from "Center", "Both Ends", "Center + Both Ends", or "Series". Center　　　　　　　: Exports a single drill at the center of a slot/square hole. Both Ends　　　　　 : Exports two drills at the both ends of a slot/square hole. Center + Both Ends : Exports three drills at the center and both ends of a slot/square hole. Series　　　　　　　 : Exports multiple drills at the intervals specified in the Pitch field.
Separate File According to Plating Status	Enable this option to generate separate NC drill files for plated and unplated holes. File Name Examples) 　Sample_NCDrill-TH　: A NC drill file for plated drills 　Sample_NCDrill-NTH : A NC drill file for unplated drills

Report File Settings

Report File Example

A drill with the tolerance fields set as +-0.00 will also be output to the report file.

Item	Content
Output Report File	It is possible to set whether to output a Report File. The Report File shows the Tool Table and export format.
Extension	The Report File extension can be set.

Exporting NC Drill

There are the following methods for executing Export NC Drill.

- Click the icon on the NC Drill screen of PCB Settings
- Open a PCB document, and then select [Project] >> [NC Drill] >> [Export NC Drill]
- Batch Output
